NO SALT MARINARA SAUCE
1 cup chopped onion
1 can (14 ½ oz) low sodium chicken broth
2 tsps minced garlic
1 teas paprika
1 teas dried basil
½ teas dried oregano
1/8 teas black pepper
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes in puree (no salt added)
1 can (28 oz) whole tomatoes, undrained (no salt added)
2 teas worcestershire sauce
¼ cup chopped parsley
½ teas sugar (or sugar substitute) to taste - optional
In lrg saucepan combine onion, chicken broth, garlic, paprika, basil, oregano,
& pepper. Cook over medium heat 10 minutes or until broth is reduced by half.
Add crushed tomatoes and whole tomatoes with their liquid, worcestershire
Sauce and parsley. Simmer, partially covered, over low heat for 30 minutes
or until thickened and chunky. Add sugar to taste.
