6 WBMO - Strawberry-Lime Ice

Be Sure to Read ALL of the Notes to Augment your Portion Properly
****************************************************************************************

From member .....
  • 20 strawberries  (ARC Gail Note:  I'm thinking that if we want to make this a single serving, simply measure out your portion of strawberries and take it from there!)
  • 1/3 cup lime juice**
  • 3 T - 1/4 cup Splenda, depending on how sweet you like it
  • 1/2 cup water
  • ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender or the tall cup on the Magic Bullet.

Put in pop molds or save a portion to make sorbet. Just freeze for an hour and whip.

** To clarify this a bit, you ARE allowed lime juice, however the amount in this recipe exceeds a reasonable recommendation for a single serving.  To make this more plan friendly, use only the juice of one lime.  And because you are reducing the quantity of limes, you may also require less sweetener.

6 WBMO - Frozen Sorbet

From member ..... This works best if you buy fresh fruit and freeze it first. If you use strawberries, make sure that you have removed the stem before freezing.

BMOS Note: The small amount of Fruit B in this recipe may be considered a freebie!

  • 1/2 cup frozen fruit (such as strawberries or raspberries)
  • 2-3 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
  • Splenda to sweeten (optional)

Add frozen fruit and applesauce into food processor. Blend until completely smooth. You can add Splenda if you do not like it tart. Makes a great dessert or snack.

6 WBMO - Cantaloupe Sorbet (Sorbetto al Melone)

From member ........ I found this in Bon Appetit (May 1997) and it's delicious!

  • 2/3 cup pourable Splenda
  • ½ cup water
  • 3 cups peeled, seeded cantaloupe, cut in 1" pieces (about 1/2 a cantaloupe)

Combine Splenda and water in medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until Splenda dissolves. Bring to a boil. Transfer to 11x7x2" glass dish and chill until cold, about 2 hours.

Meanwhile, puree cantaloupe in blender until smooth. Add to Splenda syrup in dish and stir until well blended. Freeze until almost firm, stirring occasionally, at least 3 hours or overnight.

Transfer mixture to a large bowl. Using electric mixer, beat until fluffy. Return to freezer and freeze until firm (do not stir), at least 3 hours or overnight. Sorbet can be prepared 3 days in advance. Cover and keep frozen.

6 WBMO - Banana Split "Ice Cream"

From member ....... My boys love it! I was actually trying to create a new flavor of popsicle.....but it just didn't freeze hard enough.....thus...ice cream was born! Perfect texture! If this is, too sweet, for you, back off on the syrup and maybe add more extract instead....

BMOS Note: In order to avoid triggering unwanted sugar cravings, we'd encourage you to use very ripe bananas and reduce the quantities of both syrups. If sweets are an issue for you, you may find be best to avoid this recipe entirely.

Blend well in the blender, pour into 8 (1 cup) containers with lids.....Freeze....Enjoy! This makes a very creamy ice cream treat!

Note:  Just to clarify, ..... divides this into 8 containers because her body type is allowed ¼ cup Fruit B per serving.  Depending upon the Fruit B serving size you require (see your Fast Track card) you may wish to pour this into 4 or even 2 containers.

Breakfast B-C-E
Morning Snack B
Lunch
Afternoon Snack A
Dinner
PM Snack A-C
